Food Allergy Alert

Important Information

Dear Parent/Guardian:

I am sending you this on behalf of our school community to seek your cooperation in ensuring the health and safety of all the children in our school family.

Many children in our school have a condition called Anaphylaxis. This severe allergic condition can result in death for the child. It is vital that we join together to ensure that our school is a safe, secure place where all the children can come and be protected. In this instance, we have students who are allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, fish and/or latex.

It is requested that parents of all students in the school do not pack any foods or send food items containing peanuts or tree nuts to school- we are a peanut/tree nut free school.  All students, staff and visitors at our school must adhere to the following  guidelines:

Snacks are not to be shared with other students.
Utensils are not to be shared with other students.
Hands are to be washed after eating anything that may contain allergen products. Traces of the allergen can get on the bus seats or playground equipment, desks and personal belongings.

Thank you for your cooperation and support regarding this matter. At St. Patrick’s School we are blessed to be able to count on all of our school families to help us create and maintain a safe, secure school environment for all our children. As always, if you have any questions or concerns about this subject, please feel free to contact me at the school office at your convenience.
