School Advisory Council - SAC
What is S.A.C.?
Catholic School Advisory Councils have been created to enhance students’ experience through the cooperative efforts of parents, students, staff members and others in the community. Our school council is an “advisory” body of volunteers who work together to provide ideas and opinions to assist the principal in creating the best learning environment in which the children can thrive. As a group we follow the established Council Bylaws and Code of Ethics.
When do we meet?
We meet at least 4 times in a council year at the school. Times and dates are established by the Chair(s) and the Principal. The first School Advisory Council meeting will be held virtually on October 20, 2022. At the first meeting of the year the nominations and voting for positions of the executive within the SAC are done. We will also review past activities and set the vision going forward.
The 4 Executive Positions that require nominations are:
Chairperson & Vice Chair (or Co-Chairs) – chair the meetings, meet with the Principal & Vice Principal to set the agenda for the meetings, assists all committees/coordinators when needed
Secretary – records attendance for meetings, takes minutes and distributes to members, arranges babysitting for meetings & Updates SAC bulletin board
Treasurer – prepares deposits, tracks all financial transactions for SAC, prepares treasury report for each meeting
Other Opportunities within SAC are:
Voting Members – any parent or legal guardian of a child enrolled at St. Patrick’s.
